Monochromator Shield

The monochromator shield was delivered January 30-31, 2008.

Delivery occurred after test assembly and operational testing of all three motion systems by Oak Ridge Tool-Engineering.

The one item that remains to be shipped is the motor / gear system for rotating the exit port about the monochromator axis. During testing at ORT-E, this assembly broke, partly due to supplier error in fabrication of an adaptor flange, and partly due to test acceleration that is much larger than that for normal operation.
